Vortrag: "Some Learning Basics for Those Interested in Studying Free-Choice Learning"
mit Prof. Dr. John Howard Falk (Center for Research on Lifelong STEM Learning, Portland). – How can we best understand learning in free-choice settings such as museums, historic sites and environmental education settings? John Falk will provide his theory that human learning evolved as an adaptation for maximizing personal well-being. This shows during leisure-oriented, free-choice learning, since at these times people are able to exercise some measure of choice and control over the what, where, why and with whom they learn. Falk will argue that this theory of self-related visitor motivations can result in both more informed and valid research studies, as well as better practice.
