Studying at the Institute of Chemistry

The Institute of Chemistry organises and conducts the study programme in the field of chemistry.

To prepare for a career in research and chemical industry, the scientific Bachelor’s degree programme (Chemistry - Subject Bachelor, B.Sc.) is recommended. The interdisciplinary Bachelor’s degree programme (Chemistry - Two-Subject Bachelor, B.Sc. / B.A.) prepares for a teaching profession and focuses on imparting chemical knowledge. It should be noted that a second (teaching) subject must be chosen, and the admission requirements and admission restrictions of the second subject also apply. A change between these two orientations is possible after the first few semesters.

For both orientations, there is a consecutive Master’s degree program (Chemistry - Master, M.Sc. or Chemistry - Master of Education, M.Ed.).

Of course, a doctoral program can also be pursued at the Institute of Chemistry.
