Christoph Sextroh has held the Professorship for Accounting & Corporate Governance at the University of Oldenburg since 2024 and is Adjunct Professor at the Tilburg School of Economics and Management. He is an expert on the modern information environment of companies and is particularly concerned with questions of corporate transparency and capital market communication, the dissemination and processing of financial and non-financial information by different stakeholders, as well as the effects of financial technology and social media. His research has been published in renowned international journals such as the Journal of Accounting Research, the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting and the Journal of Empirical Finance. He is an editorial board member and reviewer for various academic journals and has won several research and teaching awards.

Sextroh completed his doctorate in accounting at the Centre for Doctoral Studies in Business (CDSB) of the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS) at the University of Mannheim. He has been a visiting researcher at the London Business School, at the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business, and at the University of Washington, Foster School of Business.
