Clinical Training Center

The Clinical Training Centre (KTZ) is an integral part of teaching in the model course in human medicine at the University of Oldenburg. On more than 300 square metres, in addition to office space, several skills labs are available for students to train their practical skills. In fully equipped consulting rooms with video transmission, students can practise and improve their communication skills with acting patients.

Students of human medicine complete various compulsory clinical practical skills courses in the first three years. The KTZ is available to students from the first year of study, and they spend almost all of their time here in the fourth year.

Teaching medical communication and dovetailing this training with clinical-practical content is another focus of teaching at the KTZ. More than 80 well-trained simulation patients aged between eight and 74 are actively used in the various teaching formats of all subjects. More than 120 elaborated patient simulation cases are available for this purpose.

Further course units of the Master's degree programme "Advanced Nursing Practice" as well as courses of initial and continuing medical training are planned at the KTZ. In addition, there is cooperation with the "Midwifery Sciences" course of study at the Jade University of Applied Sciences.
