The Department of Computing Science in Faculty II of the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg is seeking to fill one position of
Research Scientists (PhD Candidates or Post-Doctoral Researchers)
(salary according to TV-L E13, 100%)
This position is located in the Hybrid Systems Group (https://www.uni-oldenburg.de/hs) of Prof. Dr. Martin Fränzle. It is available immediately. The initial contract duration is 3 years; an extension is possible.
The successful applicant will contribute to the research projects of the group on topics of processes and methods for the analysis and verification of hybrid discrete-continuous systems in a broad sense. Depending on personal interests, the successful candidate may select research topics from a range covering embedded real-time control, safe artificial intelligence, highly automated driving, autonomous cyber-physical systems, and safety-critical socio-technical systems. Her or his responsibilities include conducting research with the aim of disseminating results in high quality journals and high quality conferences, teaching, supervising bachelor and master theses, and other general activities of the research group. Early career development as well as initiatives for development of scientific independence will be actively supported.
Candidates are required to have an academic university degree (Master or equivalent) in computer science or a related topic, excellent grades, and a solid scientific background in specification, analysis and verification of hybrid systems. Candidates with good knowledge in at least one of the following fields are preferable: An application area mentioned above, formal methods of computer science or control, program analysis and verification, design and analysis of embedded or real-time systems. Post Doc Researchers must in addition hold an PhD or equivalent in these topics.
