The Department of Human Medicine invites offers for the position of a

Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in) as a PhD student
65 % TV-L E13 for three years

within the project "Role of immune checkpoint regulators in inflammatory skin diseases" at the Department of Human Medicine, Faculty 6, University Oldenburg starting on the 1st of May 2018.

The main project goal is to elucidate the immunological causes of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases of the skin, focusing on intracellular signalling pathways, activation of effector cells and regulation of proinflammatory messengers. Negative immune checkpoint regulators will also be evaluated as potential therapeutic targets. This involves the analysis of human biospecimens by means of molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry.

An academic university degree (Masters or a comparable qualification) in life science, biology, biochemistry or equivalent is required. Hands-on experience in the following techniques is desirable: FACS, quantitative PCR, immunological methods (Western Blot, ELISA, antibody staining), fluorescence microscopy
