The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg and the Klinikum Oldenburg AöR jointly advertise the position of
Professorship (W3) for Pathology
(Head (m/f) of the Department for Pathology, Klinikum Oldenburg)
as per the requirements outlined in § 25 Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz (NHG). The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
Employment is intended with less than half of the teaching requirements of a full-time professorship. Clinical employment will be implemented as head of the Department for Pathology at the Klinikum Oldenburg.
We look for an internationally renowned medical specialist registered for pathology. An outstanding profile in research, publications and acquisition of third-party funds as well as leadership and management competences and profound experience in diverse topics of pathology are required. A focus on oncological indications in the areas of solid tumors and hematologic system diseases is desirable.
The appointed professor is expected to contribute actively to building up the European Medical School Oldenburg-Groningen and to develop a tight research network with the departments of fundamental and translational research in Oldenburg and Groningen. Research should be embedded in existing and future national and cross-border research projects. Cooperation with already successfully established research networks such as the cluster of excellency "Hearing4All" or the research center for neurosensory science is desirable. A close cooperation with the different departments of the cooperating Oldenburg hospitals is expected.
The successful candidate is expected to cover the complete field of teaching in pathology. He or she will be engaged in advancing the innovative teaching program as part of the integrated medical curriculum and is expected to support new concepts in teaching and learning. Further, full entitlement for the training of medical specialists in pathology is required.
