Any university is a complex, even puzzling, place of education and work. German students need weeks and months to find their ways around the premises, let alone foreign students. Many migrant students are reluctant to start university education and unfortunately a large number of those who try fail.
Who are we, the pilots?
Our group not only includes students (German, migrant, and foreign), but also elder guest auditors of the Studium Generale, who have been supporting the pilot service for the integration of foreign students since the winter semester of 2007/2008.
What do we want to achieve?
We would like to contribute to the migrant/foreign students' educational success and try to become a well-known and accepted reliable service. Being appreciated by university facilities is one of our main goals.
How do we support you?
we help you contact university facilities
we accompany you to see public authorities and various institutions
we support you to cope with legal formalities
we offer language support for written papers
we inform you about topics related to courses and jobs
we inform you about extracurricular cultural and sports events
we attend various presentations
we provide room and opportunities to meet people
How do we meet you?
Informally and without bureaucracy. Since we are working voluntarily without being paid, our service is independent and free of charge for students. Please contact us if you would like to meet and talk to people. All our pilots are tolerant, open to any topic and respectful.
How do we treat each other?
We appreciate the skills our pilots are contributing to our service and we support each other by giving constructive feedback.
