Description
This course explores the grammatical and lexical tools available in the English language from a rhetorical perspective. Shifting our focus from simple accuracy of a sentence to communicative purpose, we will consider how meaning is best expressed through different choices of sentence and text structures. Students will analyse, edit and produce written texts on a variety of academic topics and reflect on language use from both a reader’s and a writer’s perspective.
Advanced topics in vocabulary and grammar use will be addressed based on students’ needs.
