Psychoacoustics, modeling and evaluation

Our research group is focused on the perception of acoustic signals by the human listener and the understanding of the underlying auditory processing principles. On the one hand, the human listener serves as a measurement device to assess perception of natural and technical sounds and, on the other hand, as the subject under test while investigating the underlying processing mechanisms. Our goals are the characterization of human auditory perception and hearing deficits by psychoacoustic measurements, the development of measurement and evaluation tools, the development of phenomenological auditory models, and to provide auditory signal processing principles for application in hearing instruments and systems.
