Inorganic Chemistry - Wickleder

Research topics

The research topics of my working group are located in the field of inorganic coordination- and solid state chemistry dealing with inorganic functional materials based on complex oxo anions. An important part of the investigations is dedicated to the synthesis and characterisation of new compounds. The properties of these compounds are defined by the specific oxo anion and by the nature of the used element so that with respect to the possible combinations different functionalities can be adressed. Currently we are mainly focused on five important key aspects:

a) Precursors for ultrathin oxide layers

b) Structuring of precious metals

c) Sulfonate based MOFs and coordination polymers

d) Magnetic properties by unusual coordination geometries and oxidation states

e) Nonmetal compound with oxo anions
