Stays Abroad in Europe
through Erasmus+

Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg has close ties to many European partner universities through the Erasmus+ program. In many cases it extends to the level of doctoral studies, but only for enrolled doctoral students. An overview of all Erasmus+ partnerships of the university can be found on the website of the International Student Office (ISO). In this overview, please pay attention to the level of studies included.

An internship abroad can be supported by the Erasmus+ program, too. Further information can, again, be found on the website of the International Student Office.

Stays Abroad outside of Europe

The Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg also has numerous international partnerships outside of Europe.

Places that can be applied for are usually announced from July/August for commencement of studies in the following calendar year. For stays in the United States of America and in Canada, places are announces in autumn for commencement of studies in August/September in the following year.

Financial Support for Stays Abroad, Workshops, and Summer Schools

The website of the ISO contains a lot of information on ways to finance stays abroad. Furthermore, the website of the Department for Research and Technology Transfer offers additional information. This website is currently available in German only, contact information in English is available here, however.

Doctoral candidates can apply for national financial support options for international trips related to their research. For example, the participation in international conferences, symposia, or workshops, as well as trips to prepare EU grant applications (such as Horizon 2020 or Erasmus+ projects) can be supported.
