Supplementary information:
To withstand competition on the global market, a country needs entrepreneurial minds with innovative business ideas. Students in their final year of study or those who have recently graduated from university are potential upcoming entrepreneurs. The common problem for most of them is that they are not well connected and are in need of skills on how to present their ideas to potential investors. Furthermore, there are few opportunities to receive mentorship and feedback from experienced entrepreneurs.

InterACTION is an international seminar that offers networking opportunities for young entrepreneurs and aspiring ones. It creates a platform that gives participants an opportunity to work on innovative solutions for the market as a member of an international group of people, all coming from different fields of studies and countries that allows an interdisciplinary as well as intercultural exchange. The target audience for the seminar includes computer scientists, environmental engineers, economists and social scientists. The seminar already has commitment from social incubators and business hubs in the Eastern Cape such as The Hope Factory (Port Elizabeth), Propella (Port Elizabeth) and The Cortex Hub (East London). This collaboration will bring several benefits to participating stakeholders and is essential to achieve a sustainable outcome of the seminar.

In 2016, the InterACTION seminar will be held for the first time in South Africa and this honour goes to the co-hosts, the Department of Computing Sciences of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in Port Elizabeth and the Department of Information Systems of the University of Cape Town (UCT). The event will take place from Monday 4th July to Sunday 10th July 2016 at the Summerstrand Hotel in Port Elizabeth.
