Best Demo Honorable Mention Award at i-KNOW 2013

Our paper "A Visual Interactive System for Spatial Querying and Ranking of Geographic Regions" by Chandan Kumar, Wilko Heuten and Susanne Boll received the best demo honorable mention award, and was judged as the most suitable application to be commercialized at the 13th ACM International Conference on Knowledge Management and Knowledge Computing (i-KNOW 2013), Graz, Austria.

Our paper '100,000,000 Taps: Analysis and Improvement of Touch Performance in the Large' by Niels Henze, Enrico Rukzio and Susanne Boll received the best full paper award at the 13th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction with Mobile Devices and Services (MobileHCI).

Best Project Group 2008/2009

The students from our project group 'Visual Analytics' that we supervised together with our colleagues from the Information Systems Group have been awarded the best project group of the year. The students designed, implemented and evaluated a system for 'Visual Analytics on Surface Computers'.

Our paper 'Adaptive Geospatially Focused Crawling' by Dirk Ahlers and Susanne Boll was nominated as a best paper award candidate at the 18th ACM Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM).

Innovation award for the project Loccata 2007

Our project Loccata received the second place of the Austrian innovation award "ebiz egovernment award 2007" in Vorarlberg region and in the nation wide ranking. The jury praised the project's for its 'innovation and future-orientation'.

Ansgar Scherp and Susanne Boll received the Best Paper Award for the paper "Paving the Last Mile for Multi-Channel Multimedia Presentation Generation" from the International Conference on Multimedia Modeling (MMM’05) in Melbourne, Australia.
