Dr. Jill Fresen
Jill Fresen's undergraduate degrees specialised in Mathematics teaching, when this was a newly created formal field of study at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. She has experience as a Mathematics teacher and lecturer, as well as a computer programmer, both in higher education and the corporate world.
Jill has an M.Ed (Computer-Assisted Education) and PhD (Computer-Integrated Education) from the University of Pretoria. Her PhD thesis (2005), "Quality assurance practice in online (web-supported) learning in higher education: An exploratory study" (available at upetd.up.ac.za/thesis/available/etd-02172005-134301/) explores the application of standard quality assurance theory to the field of web-supported learning.
She is also a part time editor of annual reports and academic material (in English), such as journal articles, theses and dissertations. She offers workshops for postgraduate students, covering topics such as "Elevate your English", "Remedy your Research" and "Wrap up your Word Processing".
She has been employed as a Project Manager (E-education) in the Department for Education Innovation at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, since 2000.
