Cindy Emmans has over 40 years of experience as a teacher and administrator in both online and face-to-face situations.  Her special interest area is professional development in technology skills for preK-12 teachers. More information

Tony Bates a renowned scholar and prolific writer in the field of distance education. Since he left the University of British Columbia in 2003, he has been working as an international consultant to governments and universities, mainly on strategic planning of e-learning.  More information

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Börje Holmberg

Börje Holmberg was Professor of Distance Education Methodology and Director of the Institute for Distance-Education Research at the FernUniversität in Hagen (Germany). After his retirement, Börje has continued contributing both to research and debate on distance education, for example by articles in Open Learning and Epistolodidaktika. He is also active as a practitioner in the field. More information

Dr. Dr. h.c. Hilary Perraton

Hilary Perraton was the Founding Director of the International Research Foundation for Open Learning. After retiring as its director he became a research associate at the von Hügel Institute of St Edmund's College, Cambridge. He has a wide range of experience in the planning, evaluation and costing of distance education for international agencies. More information

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. (mult.) Otto Peters

Otto Peters was Founding Rector of the FernUniversitaet in Hagen and served in this function for nearly ten years. After this he devoted his time exclusively to distance education research. Since 1991 he is professor emeritus at the FernUniversität dealing mainly with pedagogical problems of distance education. More information

Torstein Rekkedal is working as Director of Research and Development in NKI (Norwegian Competence Institute), the largest distance teaching institution in Scandinavia.
