8. UNILEAD Programme started in Vietnam
In 2008 the Department of Continuing Education and Education Management (Arbeitsbereich Weiterbildung und Bildungsmanagement, we.b) at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg developed in cooperation with the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (Pretoria, South Africa) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the English speaking programme UNILEAD (University Leadership and Management Training).
UNILEAD focuses on the special needs of executive managers in developing countries in higher education or research area.
As the programme derived from the MBA for Education and Research Management at the C3L it is designed as a project focused programme and aims at fostering innovative projects within the area of Organisational Development and Human Resource Management in institutions of higher education from South East Asia, East and South Africa, Central and Latin America and the Middle East.
UNILEAD is carried out in a blended-learning approach and offers various modules, with a special emphasis on successful Project Management. Target is that the participants acquire techniques and methods which enable them to effectively and efficiently organise institutional management in their home institutions.
Different modes of performing the programme are offered, that means it takes place both at the University of Oldenburg (general UNILEAD programme) and in other regions worldwide (UNILEAD-international) as for instance Colombia, Egypt or Vietnam.
Currently the we.b is offering the training in South East Asia for participants from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam with the modules Project Management, Quality Management and Programme Development – Curriculum Design.
In 2016 UNILEAD will be performed for the 9th time and has already over 250 alumni from more than 30 different countries.
