| A male of Tigriopus brevicornis is clasping a female first copepodid with its huge first antennae! |

As the males of many copepod species use their first antennae to clasp the females in pre- or postcopula or in copulation most of them have a distinct sexual dimorphism. In Tigriopus this dimorphism is already visible in the fourth copepodid stage (bigger antenna than the female). |
