Division of Assistance Systems and Medical Device Technology
The Division of Assistance Systems and Medical Device Technology became in May 2013 part of the department of health services research. The division evolved from the Division of Automation and Measurement Technologies (AMT) in the Department of Computing Science and was originally founded in 2003.
There is still intensive cooperation with the the Technical Computer Sciences within the Department of Informatics, the interdisciplinary Institute for Complex Integrated Systems and Microsensors (KISUM) and the associated institute OFFIS.
In teaching the division still provides lectures in the engineering basics (Electrical Engineering, Control Theory) and their technical applications in computer science (Medical Technology, Robotics).
