Application & Regulations                           


1. Find a professor of this university and this faculty who is willing to be your supervisor.

2. You must first apply for the admission as doctorate student according to the regulations of the Faculty. Here you find the application form of the faculty (ger./en). Your supervisor must have signed the form before you return it to us.

Applicants to the Graduate School, and therefore a PhD programme, must be enrolled at the University of Oldenburg or may enrole concurrently. 

Please note: Applicants for the Graduate School and the PhD programs must hold a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree, Diploma degree, a State Exam, 'Magister' or equivalent in biology, physics, psychology, informatics or related subjects to the topics of research. Candidates should have good English language skills.

The PhD Program generally is tuition fee free. Students just have to pay the normal administration fee of about 250 Euros per semester for the enrolment.

Scholarships are available for students in several study programs. Also job positions for PhD students are offered in numerous grant-funded projects of the University.
