Safety-Security-Interaction

Welcome to the Safety-Security-Interaction Group!

The Safety-Security-Interaction group is concerned with the development of theoretically sound technologies for maintaining the security of IT systems in the context of safety-critical systems and the Internet of Things. The focus is on the development of security solutions that are tailored to the context-specific conditions and that take into account various types of user-interaction as well as the functional safety of the to-be-protected systems.

Our new authentication mechanism based on Wi-Fi signals that surround us got accepted at ETAA 2022!

Our paper „The Measurable Environment as Nonintrusive Authentication Factor on the Example of WiFi Beacon Frames” got accepted at ETAA 2022! In the paper, we describe a novel location-based authentication mechanism that uses the Wi-Fi signals that surround us at a specific location in order to recognize that location. The approach only relies on the capability features in Wi-Fi beacon frames, which can solely be used for the recognition, but not the localization of a specific place; this makes the approach privacy aware.
